David Tennant was interviewed on TV this morning and when asked about series 5 he said,

"Oh don't worry, I'll be back, I'm just taking a break so I can do this and then do that too." (I'm paraphrasing because I've forgotten what he said exactly, but you get the gist)

The TARDIS is having one of her 'senior moments' and has sent the Doctor three million light years from Earth, in the process interrupting Lister's poker night.
